The International Rock-it-Ball Federation (IRIBF) has initiated a new fund-raising program called the
1000 Club where we are asking companies to to donate just £50.00 to help with our Global Grass Roots Inclusion Program (Global
G.R.I.P.) which is receiving ever increasing requests for Rock-It-Ball
to be introduced into different countries. Rock-It-Ball a BRITISH innovated sport,t was launched a mere three
years ago and has already been tipped by many as a future inclusion in
the Olympic Games. To achieve this goal, we must have 75 countries
playing the sport in 4 of the 5 International Olympic Committee regions.
Our Global Grass Roots Inclusion Program (Global GRIP) aims to achieve
this by asking companies to donate just £50.00 to help our cause. If we
can find 1,000 companies, willing to donate £50.00 (totalling £50,000),
then we will be to visit 4 more countries to establish the sport.
The International Rock-It-Ball Federation (IRIBF) was founded on the
6th December 2006 and has in that short time established 7 National
Governing Bodies (NGB’s) - USA, England, Scotland, Wales, India,
Denmark and UAE. Our goal for this year was two NGBs. We had already
achieved this by March and a third was in place by the end of April.
NGB’s are the organisations that run and govern the sport in a country,
so they form a very important part of the program. It costs us around
£12,000 per country to go and sow the seeds of the sport into one major
city. We take enough equipment to get 10 schools playing and a club
set up for adults at each school. As part of the program we set up the
NGB using people who have embraced the sport, we qualify 20 coaches and
also run a competition at the end of the visit. With support this then
permeates to other areas. We then support the NGB over the next 4 years
or until such time as we believe them capable of operating on their own.
So,
if you know people that run a company, why not ask if they will help a
British sport get into the Olympics by donating just £50.00. Each company that donates will have their name, company logo, details and link to their company website placed here on the IRIBF website.
If
you are a company visiting our website and would like to donate £50.00
please contact our Commissioner, Craig Buttery, who will explain more
about what we are trying to achieve. If you are an individual again contact our Commissioner on 01642 355854 or 07809 716423 email
